Aaron holds an Associate of Arts in Psychology/Christian Counseling, a Bachelor of Science in Psychology/Crisis Counseling, and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University. Aaron started in the counseling and mental health field while serving in the military as a Chaplain’s Assistant and became a temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor in 2025.
Aaron provides office-based services in the Elkader office, as well as school-based and virtual sessions. Aaron is open to working with individuals age 8 and up. He works well with those experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, ADHD, adjustment disorders, anger management concerns, grief, and relational issues within couples and families.
Aaron has extensive experience working with the male population regarding trauma-related challenges. He has completed two combat deployments as a Chaplain’s Assistant during a time when the chaplaincy was trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills. He worked with the Psychological Services Unit at a maximum-security facility to complete his practicum and internship for his master’s program and was later hired by the Department of Corrections as a Substance Abuse Counselor under his training license before beginning his career as a licensed therapist (tLMHC). Aaron has also provided pastoral counseling as a religious volunteer in prisons since 2016. With Aaron’s experience, he provides person-centered support to individuals in delicate situations without judgment and can offer spiritual/religious integration when requested. Aaron is effective in using CBT, ACT, Existential/Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy when supporting others.

Aaron began his career with RISE in March of 2026.
