Alex earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminal Justice from Upper Iowa University in December 2020, followed by her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Capella University in December 2024. She is a temporary Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in Iowa (tLMFT).
Alex works with clients ages 5 & up, both in person at the Dyersville office and virtually. She has experience addressing trauma, supporting parenting skills, guiding personal and professional development, and navigating divorce and co-parenting processes. Alex has worked extensively with families involved in HHS and the court system, including juvenile court cases, and has provided specialized care for sexual trauma as well as grief and loss.
Alex creates a safe, supportive space through her warm, empathetic approach, grounded in attachment theory. She collaborates with you, respecting your understanding of your own life and helping you stay on track with your goals. Alex utilizes straightforward tools such as realistic goal-setting, reframing negative thoughts, and self-exploration to help children, teens, and adults find motivation, manage emotions, and change unhelpful patterns. In each session, whether you are coping with ADHD, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, or major life changes, therapy is customized to your needs so you leave feeling understood, respected, and ready to move forward.
Alex focuses on building trust through genuine care and transparency. She creates a secure environment, upholds clear boundaries, and maintains straightforward accountability so clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to build lasting resilience.
Alex began as an intern at RISE in January 2024 and began as a therapist in June 2025.
