Karlyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in psychology and her Master of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa. Karlyn is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW).

Karlyn provides office-based and virtual therapy out of our Dyersville Office. Karlyn has experience working with anxiety, depression, inattention, hyperactivity, trauma, and adjustment-related stressors. Karlyn strives to provide a calm, comfortable, and safe environment where clients feel supported, understood, and accepted. Her approach is client-centered, collaborative, and holistic, with a strong focus on meeting clients where they are and moving at a pace that feels right for them. Karlyn values building meaningful therapeutic relationships rooted in compassion, empathy, and trust.

Karlyn views each client as the expert in their own life and experiences. She works alongside clients to better understand their unique needs, goals, strengths, and challenges while creating a therapeutic experience that feels supportive and meaningful to them. Her work emphasizes collaboration, growth, self-awareness, and practical steps toward change.
Karlyn incorporates evidence-based interventions, including CBT techniques, trauma-informed care, somatic therapy techniques, and individualized coping strategies to help clients build insight, strengthen emotional regulation, and create lasting change. She works with clients ages 13 and older and supports concerns including ADHD, anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, communication challenges, and trauma.

Karlyn began her career with RISE in June 2024.
