Aaron Schmidt, MA, tLMHC

Aaron started in the counseling and mental health field while serving in the military as a Chaplain’s Assistant, and became a temporary Licensed Mental Health Counselor in 2025.

Aaron has extensive experience working with the male population regarding trauma-related challenges. He has completed two combat deployments as a Chaplain’s Assistant during a time when the chaplaincy was trained in Critical Incident Stress Management and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills. He worked with the Psychological Services Unit at a maximum-security facility to complete his practicum and internship for his master’s program and was later hired by the Department of Corrections as a Substance Abuse Counselor under his training license before beginning his career as a licensed therapist (tLMHC). Aaron has also provided pastoral counseling as a religious volunteer in prisons since 2016.
