Karah earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Master of Arts in School Counseling from the University of Northern Iowa. She served as an elementary school counselor from 2002 to 2018 before relocating to Eastern Iowa. In 2025, she completed her certificate in Mental Health Counseling and joined the RISE team.
Working primarily with clients aged 4+, Karah has extensive experience supporting children. She also has a special passion for working with women, supporting them through the unique physical and emotional changes they encounter across their lifespan. She specializes in grief, conflict-resolution, and learning difficulties. She loves to incorporate play, music, art, and movement into her sessions as well.
Her approach to counseling is grounded in the belief that every person is good inside, full of potential, and needed in this world. Life is messy and beautiful, and Karah offers a space where both can exist. Her counseling style blends creative tools like play, art, and music, with a deep respect for the mind-body connection.
Whether you're working through a life transition, emotional pain, or simply trying to feel more like yourself again, Karah offers a compassionate space to explore, reflect, and move forward.
Karah began as an Intern at RISE in August 2024 and started as a Therapist in September 2025.
