Karlyn received her Bachelor of Arts in Social Work with a minor in psychology and her Master of Social Work from the University of Northern Iowa. Karlyn is a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW). She provides office-based and virtual therapy out of our Dyersville office, and works with clients aged 13 and older.
With experience counseling for anxiety, depression, life transitions, interpersonal relationships, communication challenges, ADHD, trauma, and adjustment-related stressors, Karlyn strives to provide a comfortable and safe environment where clients feel supported, understood, and accepted. Her approach is client-centered, collaborative, and holistic, with a strong focus on meeting clients where they are and moving at a pace that feels right for them. Karlyn values building meaningful therapeutic relationships rooted in compassion, empathy, and trust.
Karlyn views each client as the expert in their own life and experiences. She works alongside clients to better understand their unique needs, goals, strengths, and challenges while creating a therapeutic experience that feels supportive and meaningful to them. Her work emphasizes collaboration, growth, self-awareness, and practical steps toward change.
She incorporates evidence-based interventions, including CBT techniques, trauma-informed care, somatic therapy techniques, and individualized coping strategies to help clients build insight, strengthen emotional regulation, and create lasting change.
Karlyn began her career with RISE in June 2024.
